This is where you will find the newest additions to our farm, red eared slider couples.  The couples are busy preparing for their move to the new retail locations. 

    What are turtle couples?  Well, turtle couples are just what they sound like.  They are 2 adolescent through adult red eared slider turtles, 1 male and 1 female, that are individually chosen and then "coupled" together by the experts at our farm.  They are chosen to provide the best possible chance of creating your very own successful turtle families.    How do I care for my couple?  With your purchase of your Couple you will receive a certificate of health from our farm, a certificate showing your couple was "farm-raised" and a complete "Turtle Couples Care Guide" that is specific to your Couple species.

    What different species are available to choose my couple from?  Currently we are only shipping the beautiful red eared sliders as couples (pseudemys scripta elgans).  Click the hatchling below for a larger view of what your couple could reproduce.  However, demand has become so great for the other species we are working on that as well.  (See "turtle gallery" at left).

    What are the size of the couples?  While we have a variety of sizes, our professionals will hand select a young couple from a minimum 4" carapace (shell) size up to full adult, based on YOUR request.  The more mature couples are closer to breeding age.  This size has been selected because of an FDA ban on the sell of the hatchling (baby quarter size) turtles in the U.S.  Unfortunately it is against federal law to sell and purchase these turtles in the U.S.  However, It is perfectly legal to purchase potential parents!  This is why we are offering the turtle "couples".

    How Can I get MY Couple?  Due to the high and unforeseen demand for our couples, the red eared slider Couples are available in limited quantities.  They have been specifically selected to meet the high demand in the U.S.  If you want to know more about them or if you are ready for your own red eared slider "family" you can contact us by clicking HERE and you will be able to email us your request.

    How much does my couple Cost?  That information will be available from your retail store when we have more information.

    Are they salmonella free?  The Concordia Turtle Farm, LLC, is one of the pioneering farms that has worked very closely with Dr. Ron Siebeling, to help establish guidelines and the testing of the "Siebeling Method" that removes the chance of salmonella bacterial infections due to the handling of hatchling turtles.  Thanks to Dr. Siebeling and the Staff at Louisiana State University and the members of the Lousiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, for their timeless assistance.  While the hatchlings are tested to be salmonella free there can be no guarantee on turtles that are the legal 4" shell size.  However, With the proper care from you, you can maintain a salmonella free environment for your new turtle.

    When will my couple arrive?  Depending on your location and your choice of shipping your couple could arrive to your door in as little as 48 hours.  When your order is confirmed, you will receive an invoice by email and another email including your tracking number for your turtles when they ship.  (Shipping charges apply via UPS).
