STAMPING OUT SALMONELLA
While it’s impossible to eradicate salmonella in 4” turtles once they leave the farm due to outside contaminants, our hatchlings have all been “inoculated” against salmonella using the “Siebeling Method” of treatment which was pioneered at our farm with the help of late Dr. Ronald Siebeling and  Louisiana State University.  It has been documented that there is a greater chance of salmonella being found on a store bought head of lettuce than hatchlings certified from our farm.  Once certified by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry and Approved by State Mandated Legislation, Nearly 4 million “salmonella free” certified turtles pass through our farm every year destined for an overseas market.
